Wally Fry joined the One Young World Summit 2013 in Johannesburg earlier this month. He formed the panel on the Food Revolution with the likes of Jamie Oliver and shared the stage with Ahmed Kathrada and Francois Pienaar.
One Young World was founded in 2009 and are a London-based charity that gathers together young people from around the world, helping them make lasting connections to create positive change.
The future of food was discussed and Wally spoke about the work that Meat Free Mondays is doing to promote healthy, sustainable food choices in South Africa. Jamie Oliver joined the panel via satellite to discuss the work his Food Revolution is doing around the world.
It was an honour to be involved in an event with esteemed speakers such as Kofi Annan, Richard Branson, Boris Becker, and Ryk Neethling. Wally was truly inspired by the number of young people looking to be part of the change that they wanted to see in the world instead of being idle in the face of our planet’s challenges.
